We are delighted to share ICAAN’s next instalment from their animation series ‘5 Stories of Hope and Recovery’.

This, the third short animation, was produced with support from the North-East Regional Drug and Alcohol Task Force and the Family Addiction Support Network in the North East, and most importantly with support from the Grandmother who shared her story.

A Grandmother’s Story tells the story of kinship care, a model of caring for children in their wider family group when, for whatever reason, the parents are unable to act as the primary caregivers.

This story speaks to issues relating to addiction within the family, its impact and to the importance of compassionate, timely and non-judgemental family support. Please take a minute out of your day to watch this, to share this and to talk about it in your work.
