There was great excitement at the Family Addiction Support Network premises last Friday 12th June in Dundalk as Gwen McKenna & Jackie McKenna welcomed Sinead Hussey RTE to showcase their Communities Doing It for Themselves! – a model of response to supporting families impacted by a loved one’s substance misuse, using best practice through a tried and tested holistic approach between the Church, State & Community.

We are calling on all our TD’s and public representatives to lobby the Government to fully implement the UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 Ensure healthy lives and promote health and wellbeing for all at all ages and to invest in our communities. As the representative voice of families impacted by substance misuse FASN also calls on the Government to ensure the appointment of a Minister with responsibility for the National Drugs Strategy to sit at the Cabinet table and that the unique issues and needs of families in the North East region to be recognised and included in policy development and reports.
