Families, runners, walkers, and supporters from across County Cavan and the North East are being encouraged to take part in the upcoming Family Addiction Support Network 5K Fun Run on Sunday, 17 May 2026.
Organised in support of the Family Addiction Support Network, the event will take place at the Shercock Athletic Club Running Track, with the run beginning at 10 a.m.
The event aims to raise vital funds and awareness for families affected by addiction while also promoting community wellbeing, connection, and support.
Participants of all fitness levels are welcome to attend, whether running competitively, jogging with friends, or walking the course in solidarity with families impacted by addiction.
Speaking ahead of the event, organisers said the 5K Fun Run is about bringing communities together while supporting an important cause that affects families throughout the region.
“Addiction impacts entire families and communities. This event is an opportunity for people to come together, show support, and help ensure families can access the guidance and resources they need.”
