The Family Addiction Support Podcast

The Family Addiction Support Network (FASN) has launched The Family Addiction Support Podcast, a four-part series sharing the real experiences of people affected by addiction within their families.

The aim of the series is simple: to help family members recognise that they need and deserve support in their own right β€” and that getting support can make a real difference.

Across four episodes, we hear from family members with very different experiences. Rosie, a partner, shares the impact of living alongside a loved one’s addiction. Christine and John, both parents, speak about their experiences of having children affected by addiction. Linda talks about growing up with addiction and how addiction continued to affect different relationships and family members throughout her life.

Their circumstances are different, but their stories highlight many experiences that families will recognise β€” worry, fear, trying to help or fix things, the impact on relationships and wellbeing, and the challenge of knowing when and how to step back and look after yourself.

Most importantly, they talk about what changed when they found support for themselves.

We hope family members listening will hear something that resonates with their own experience and recognise that they do not have to cope alone.

Four family members. Four different stories. One important message: families affected by addiction need support too.

The Family Addiction Support Podcast is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and NearCast.
